Summer Storage FAQs
The Summer Storage Kit, priced at $150, includes three (3) heavy-duty boxes sized 18" x 18" x 18", a roll of packing tape, and secure, climate-controlled on-campus storage until August 29, 2025.
Yes - The Summer Storage Kit (including three boxes and tape) is not required to participate in this program. Individual storage boxes, or storage for individual items that cannot be contained in a summer storage box, can be purchased independently or as add-ons to the Summer Storage Kit.
The Summer Storage Kit (with or without any additional purchased storage) is intended for one student. All storage purchased under the name of the student will be assigned to that student and can only be collected by that student.
Yes, Indvidual boxes/items may be added at a charge of $50 per box or per item. Additional items (not able to be stored in provided boxes) must be pre-approved by Campus Mail.
The charges must be paid at the time of purchase. To start the order process, visit the main Summer Storage page and click the Register Now button.
Once purchased, the student will be notified via email when their boxes are ready for pickup, generally within 2 business days. Pickup is at the Campus Mail Services Center, where they will need to present their ACTion card and sign for receipt of the boxes.
Yes. The following items are strictly prohibited and will not be stored through this program: Illegal substances; Tobacco and tobacco paraphernalia; Vapes and vaping paraphernalia; Weapon and ammunition; Caustic, explosive, or flammable chemicals; Gases or liquids; Perishables; Batteries; Foodstuffs; Liquids: Hazardous materials; Animals or animal fur; or equipment containing such materials; Bicycles and motorized transportation devices.
Boxes and items that are ready for storage can be dropped off with Campus Mail in a few ways.
- Items may be taken to the Campus Mail Service Center (in the Student Center) from 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary to drop off at the Campus Mail Service Center.
- Items may be dropped off at our manned drop-off events throughout campus. Schedule your drop-off appointment here.

Yes, with approval. You may purchase storage for individual items that do not fit in our standard boxes. These items must be pre-approved by Campus Mail Service. Excessively large or heavy items or prohibited items will not be approved. Televisions will only be accepted f they are properly packed in their original box or in a box specifically designed for TV’s. Fragile items are not recommended for storage.
Items can be retrieved any time after they are stored through the end of the contract term, August 29, 2025. Summer Storage items will be moved to the move-in package pick-up location most convenient to the student’s fall residence beginning July 28. Once items are collected, though, they may not be placed back in storage under the same contract period.
Stored items will be available for collection at the Campus Mail Service Center (CMSC) throughout the summer. Beginning July 28, stored items will be moved to the move-in package pick-up location that is most convenient to your fall housing location through Aug 17., after which they will return to CMSC. Students living off-campus will collect their items at CMSC or Barnwell Hall.
Items that are not collected by September 20, 2025 will be considered abandoned.
No, insurance is not provided. It's recommended to purchase a policy from a licensed insurance provider.
Yes, you can cancel before collecting the Summer Storage Kit, but no refunds will be given after collection.
Yes, Campus Mail Services reserves the right to open and inspect boxes under certain circumstances.
Summer Storage items will be stored on-campus at the Campus Mail Service Center, in the UA Student Center.
Yes. The Campus Mail Service Center has strict access control.
