HIRING: Student Workers for Summer

Campus Mail is looking to hire student workers during the summer to assist with processing move-in packages.

Shifts from 10 to 40 hours per week are available from June 24 through August 20.

Responsibilities include receiving, processing, and storing student packages that are sent to Campus for the fall move-in period. The use of package tracking software and Microsoft Office products is required, with great care and attention to detail necessary. Packages can weigh up to 50 lbs.

Campus Mail – Spring Break Closure Details

Campus Mail Services will be closed Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15 following the UA Spring Break schedule.

Departmental Mail:  All outgoing mail must be received by Campus Mail no later than 2 pm on Friday, March 8 to go out before the break. Normal operations will resume on Monday, March 18 at 8 am.

Passports: The Passport Acceptance Facility will close at noon on Friday, March 8 to ensure all passports received are executed and shipped before the break. Normal operations will resume on Monday, March 18 at 9 am.

Student Mail Center & Retail Shipping Station: On Friday, March 8, retail sales of stamps, outgoing shipping services, and shipping supplies will stop at noon, though package and mail pick-up will be available through 5 pm. Normal operations will resume on Monday, March 18 at 8 am.

Campus Mail Services will be closed Mon. Jan 15

Campus Mail Services will be closed Mon, Jan 15 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr holiday.

This closure affects departmental mail operations, student mail operations, and the UA Passport acceptance facility. Operations will resume on Tues, Jan 16.

Limited Operations, Wednesday, December 13

To accommodate staff training, Campus Mail will provide limited services on Wednesday, December 13.

Departmental Mail Center – Departmental mail routes will be run in the afternoon, instead of the morning. Outgoing mail and packages will be processed on Thursday, Dec 14. Departments are encouraged to send any items that need to be mailed by Dec 13th to the mailroom by 2 pm on Tuesday, Dec 12. The Kirkbride mailroom will not be open for departmental drop-offs on Dec 13, between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. The passport office will not be affected.

Campus Mail Service Center (Student Mail) – No retail sales, including the sale of stamps and outgoing shipping services, will be available from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 13. Normal operations will resume at 1:30 pm. Package pick-up will not be affected.

The University of Alabama Passport Acceptance Facility Holiday Break Schedule

The University of Alabama Fingerprinting and Passport office will be closed from Fri, Dec 22 through Tues, Jan 2 in accordance with the University’s holiday break schedule.  Services will resume on Wed, Jan 3, 2024.

The Fingerprinting and Passport office will stop taking passport applications at 11 am to allow adequate time for processing and mailing.

Campus Mail Services – Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

Campus Mail Services will be closed from Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Friday, Nov. 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes student and departmental mail operations as well as the UA Passport Acceptance Facility.

Passport services and retail sales at the Campus Mail Service Center will cease at 11 am on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Normal operations will resume Monday, Nov 27.

Departmental Mailstop Renewals

Annual fees for departmental mailstop rentals will increase from $385 to $395 and for Greek mailstops from $435 to $445 for FY24 and will be billed in December 2023.
Departments should complete the FY24 Mailstop Renewal Forms by November 17th and include updated FOAPAL and contact information.
